The Country Women’s Association (CWA) has a long history of supporting women, families, and communities across regional Australia. Through advocacy, fundraising, and connection, the CWA works to improve conditions for country women and children, strengthen rural communities, and give a united voice to local issues in health, education, social wellbeing, and rural development.
Across NSW and the ACT, women from both country and city areas come together to socialise, share skills, raise funds, and help shape policies that are taken to state level. Members also enjoy cooking, handicraft, art and creative writing, and the chance to learn from one another.
Here in Nimbin, our CWA branch is an active and welcoming part of village life. We run a friendly op shop and a weekly kitchen, creating connection, purpose, and practical support for our community.
