As we approach the completion of the first phase of the Nimbin Community Organisations Interagency project, we would like to sincerely thank the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation, our member organisations, volunteers and community supporters who helped make it possible.

Together, we have built the Nimbin.org.au website, strengthened connections between almost 50 local organisations, launched the Volunteer Honour Roll, and celebrated 50 volunteer nominees at the inaugural Legends of Nimbin Volunteer Awards.

With the Youth Volunteer Expo at the Nimbin Central School Community Market on Friday 26 June (12.00 pm – 5.00 pm), we will complete the final activity of this first funding round. Come and meet local organisations, discover volunteering and work experience opportunities, and learn more about the many ways people contribute to community life in Nimbin.

The project may be reaching the end of its first phase, but the work continues. The Interagency network will keep meeting, the Volunteer Honour Roll and volunteer promotion activities will continue, the Legends of Nimbin Awards will return next year, and we will keep developing Nimbin.org.au as a hub for community organisations, volunteer opportunities and local resources. As time and resources allow, we also hope to continue supporting organisations to build their online profiles and better showcase volunteering and work experience opportunities.
