A lovely afternoon at the Nimbin Central School Market on Friday 18 September, which also marked the final activity of our James Frizelle Charitable Foundation grant.

A big thank you to all the organisations who came along: NNIC & 7 Sibley, Aquarius Landcare Group & NEC, NAFI & Nimbin Fringe Festival, Nimbin Health & Wellbeing, and the Nimbin Central School P&C.

A special shout-out to NNIC & 7 Sibley, who came with a fantastic stall, including a questionnaire, a game and some of the very cool things made from recovered plastic through the NimBIN Chickens project.

With the young people busy with their own stalls, music and activities, the afternoon was less about formal conversations and more about simply being there, interacting and making community organisations visible and accessible.

It was also a valuable opportunity for organisations and teachers to connect and continue thinking about how we can involve young people more in community life and create more opportunities for them in Nimbin.

This brings our current grant project to a close, but certainly not the work. We’ll keep building on these ideas, and hopefully further funding will help us take the next steps faster and with more capacity.
