For the volunteer who always shows up in the most stylish or quirky outfits.
Daniele Voinot Sledge
Daniele Voinot has been a long-time contributor to the Nimbin community, dedicating many years to environmental action and local initiatives. As a volunteer with the Nimbin Environment Centre and an active member of the Northern Rivers Guardians, she has taken part in everything from shop volunteering and committee work to protests, blockades and campaigns such as Bentley and the Richmond River Koala Park project. She is also connected to the Nimbin Organic Food Co-op and is a familiar, welcoming presence in the village. People speak of her warmth, her open heart and her commitment — and alongside all of this, there is something else that never goes unnoticed. Her distinctive style, often created from op shop treasures, brings colour, creativity and a sense of playfulness to the community, which she generously shares with others. Daniele embodies the spirit of the Fashionista award — where expression, individuality and community come together.
Christine Strelan
People say that if you’ve ever walked down Cullen Street and noticed a burst of colour, texture and confidence — you’ve likely seen Christine Strellan. She is often described as someone who doesn’t just get dressed, but expresses herself — blending vintage, handmade and reworked pieces into something uniquely her own. In a village known for individuality, many say Christine stands out simply by fully embracing who she is. Beyond her style, Christine volunteers with Comskool, and those around her speak of her enthusiasm, generosity and the presence she brings to everything she does. She is someone who lifts the everyday, adding colour, creativity and a sense of joy to the community. Christine embodies the spirit of the Fashionista award — expressive, authentic and unapologetically herself.
