Diana Roberts has been quietly shaping the Nimbin community for decades, contributing her skills across the Community Centre, Chamber of Commerce, Nimbin Advisory Group, Aquarius Archives, the Rainbow Walk project and Landcare — and many other local initiatives along the way. People often say that when something complex needs to be done, Diana is the one who steps in — whether it’s navigating council processes, securing funding, or holding organisations steady through challenge and change. Her more than 20 years of persistence on the Rainbow Walk project is just one example of her determination, turning a difficult vision into a lasting community asset. She is also a driving force behind the Hemposium, bringing together speakers from across fields to inform and inspire the community. Samuel Herren
Samuel Herren volunteers with the Nimbin Bowling Club. He is described as someone who gets things done and is always ready to help, bringing a very practical, hands-on approach. Known for his skills as a handyman, Sam steps in where needed and contributes in a focused and hands-on approach. People value his willingness to act and his ability to turn practical skills into real support. He doesn’t overcomplicate things — he just gets on with it. Scott Sledge
Scott Sledge has been a dedicated volunteer with the Nimbin Environment Centre for decades, and a long-standing advocate for environmental protection across the Northern Rivers. As President of the NEC and the Northern Rivers Guardians, he has been involved in a wide range of initiatives — from koala protection and major protest movements to ongoing campaigns like the Richmond River Koala Park project. People describe Sledge as both a man of action and a thoughtful communicator, sharing his knowledge through regular articles in the Nimbin Good Times and encouraging others to get involved.
